FIELD MANUAL
How to wreck a city
Pick a city. Spin the planet and tap a pin, type any name to generate that city, or tap empty land to found a new one. The same name always builds the same city.
Smash. Punch buildings apart, stomp the small stuff, and swipe to clear a circle. Knock out a tower's lower floors and the whole thing topples, taking its neighbors with it.
Climb and leap. Jump into the side of a tall building to grab on and climb it. Push up or down to scale it, left or right to shimmy along the wall and around its corners, then haul yourself onto the roof (rooftops dent under your weight, and stomping up there smashes down into the building). Tridrax can hold JUMP in the air to glide. Jumps carry your momentum; press STOMP in mid-air for a dive slam — the higher the fall, the bigger the crater. Punches chain: jab, cross, then a heavy overhead hammer. Keep the chain going for the third hit: it smashes a much larger section of building and deals the most damage. Hold JUMP for a higher jump; jump again right as you land for a double, then a flipping triple jump; jump during a charge dash for a long jump.
Hold to power up. Hold PUNCH, STOMP or ROAR (and SPECIAL for Rocket Claw or Zoomies) and let go for a bigger version — the monster glows as it charges, full after about a second: Power Punch, Mega Stomp, Shockwave Roar, Mega Rocket Claw, Mega Zoomies. A quick tap is the normal move. Beams (breath, gravity beams, Zenith Ray) power up while you hold them: thin at first, full power after about 1.5 s.
Charge combos. While winding up a charge (or mid-dash): PUNCH for a Power Punch (punch during the dash itself is a Rush Punch), SPECIAL for each monster's supercharged dash (Atomic Comet, Gravity Ram, Rocket Ram, Zenith Rocket, Mega Zoomies) that ends in an explosion, ROAR for a Shockwave Roar that blasts the buildings in front. Jump during the dash for a long jump, then SWIPE in the air for a Drill Spiral: you corkscrew forward and bore a tunnel through everything in your path (every 6 s; otherwise it's a normal Cyclone).
Rage Mode. When the RAGE meter is full a flaming RAGE! button appears (or press V): for 8 seconds you're wreathed in fire and lightning — 2× damage, bigger hits, faster, no damage taken and free specials.
Grab and throw. Next to a small building (up to about half your height), press G or GRAB to rip it off its lot and hold it overhead. PUNCH, G or GRAB throws it at whatever you face — it smashes into towers, cars, the army and Zenith.
Aim by facing. Whatever your monster faces glows orange and shows its name and integrity — punches, breath, Rocket Claw, and Zenith Ray all go to it. Turn to pick a new target.
Charge. Hold CHARGE to wind up, aim, then let go to dash forward and plow straight through blocks. The longer you hold, the faster and farther you go.
Rage and special. Destruction fills your RAGE meter; when it is full, trigger Rage Mode. Your special has its own SPCL meter: it drains as you use it and refills when you rest. Run it dry and it overheats, so you have to wait out a cooldown before you can use it again.
Grades and the campaign. Every Rampage is graded S, A, B, C or D on how much of the city you level, plus 5% for each of the city's three missions you complete (going down costs a letter). S requires at least 85% actual destruction, all three missions in that run, and survival; time, city size and mission bonuses cannot lower its destruction requirement. Clear a city with a C or better to unlock the next one — later armies mobilize sooner and send more frequent reinforcements. Boss cities keep support to three ground units and one regular aircraft, with slower replacements and no fighter or strike waves. After every two cities, the third is defended by a boss kaiju (Gorax, Lumora, Kabutron, Mecha-Skra, Tridrax, and Zenith in the final city), each tougher than the last: beat it to clear the city and add that monster to your roster. Two off-world monsters join later: IGNIVAR, a fire-breathing dragon (beat the final boss city of the Elder World), and XYRAK, an acid-spitting stalker (beat the final boss city of Neo Terra). Cities you type or found yourself are always open.
Rampage mode. You get 3 minutes, and the army escalates as the damage grows: tanks, then helicopters, then bombers. Roar to knock nearby choppers out of the sky (it takes 20 s to recharge — watch the ROAR bar). Smashing buildings heals you, and so does trampling cars and the crowds fleeing along the sidewalks.
XP and Evolution. XP and upgrades belong to the monster that earns them. Each monster can earn first-clear and boss bonuses in every campaign city. Inspect and rotate the roster, demonstrate moves, and buy upgrades in the Monster Lab. DNA caches are shared discoveries: two per city, 50 XP each, once across all monsters, kept if you quit or lose. Tutorial, Sandbox and the Lab earn no XP. Progress is saved on this device and can be changed in only one tab at a time.
Sandbox mode. No timer, no army. Just you and the skyline.
